Production payments are held in segregated escrow accounts at Mercury Bank. Funds release only when both founder and partner mark a milestone complete. No more wiring $40k to a co-packer you've never met and hoping the cans show up.

Every co-packer, formulator, and designer on Barrel has signed our master agreement — reviewed by Latham & Watkins. You get IP assignment, NDA, and quality-out clauses by default. No $5k legal bill before you've made a single bottle.

Every producer is licensed-and-insured before they're matchable. We verify TTB Basic Permits, state licenses, COA-issuing capability, and insurance certificates annually. 2,400+ applications screened to date; 1,318 approved.
Age-gating & responsible marketing
Every brand site spun up via Barrel ships with TTB-compliant age verification, state-by-state shipping restrictions, and Responsibility.org-aligned marketing guidelines. We block ad placements in jurisdictions where they're illegal.
Data security & SOC-2 roadmap
All data encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Production database hosted in SOC-2 certified infrastructure. Independent SOC-2 Type I audit complete; Type II in progress for Q3.
